On July 1, we welcomed Cynthia van der Hoeven as the new Sales Manager at Finch Buildings. Her passion for sustainability and the energy transition has shaped her career, and now she brings that same energy to Finch Buildings. Find out more about Cynthia's background and motivation here.

"My career as a sales and communications professional in the field of sustainability and the energy transition began in 2001 with my participation in the Practical Training in Non-Conventional Energy Technologies. Now that these green techniques have become more or less commonplace, I am overjoyed that from now on I can contribute to that other very important theme: sustainable building.

At the Viba-Expo in Den Bosch, where I worked as marketing manager from 2004-2006, I learned all about ecological building materials, organic and healthy building. In 2011, I founded Stg. Dubonetwerk regio Arnhem-Nijmegen and brought parties from the building sector together to accelerate sustainability in construction through knowledge sharing.

I believe that as a society we have a responsibility to leave the world a better place for future generations. Every step I have taken in my career, from my initial education to my current position at Finch Buildings, has been driven by that same passion to make a real difference.

At Finch Buildings, I am now completely in my place. Biobased building with solid wood, CLT, the building material of the 21st century. We even store CO₂ in our high-quality prefab modules, how great is that!
Building with respect for people and nature, truly sustainable, healthier and modern; this makes me happy. What really appeals to me is that Finch makes accessible, healthy homes for everyone, including people with small wallets. Everyone has the right to a safe and healthy living environment, regardless of their financial situation.

The move to biobased construction is a logical and necessary choice. It gives me enormous energy to inspire others to follow this sustainable course. Also make the switch from traditional building with concrete and steel to timber construction. It is high time!"
